Presidents Message

All Muswellbrook Shire businesses are invited to enter the MCCI 2012 Business Awards.

Over the year our local economy has experienced high levels of growth on one hand and a slowdown in the resources sector towards the end of the year. The agricultural sector has also had a mixed bag of market and weather conditions to deal with. Retail remains tough and competition is keen. All businesses that have ended the year in better shape than they started are to be congratulated.

On this important 10th Anniversary of the Awards, the Chamber wants to congratulate local businesses and highlight their commitment to good business practice and excellent customer service. I would encourage all businesses to participate in one of the wide range of categories available. Please study the enclosed documents and join other local businesses which have enjoyed the benefits of participating and raising their profile in the community. Your business can be nominated by another business, by a customer or by yourself.

As well as considering your own nomination, you might consider nominating a local supplier or customer business of yours.

Those businesses who have participated in the past speak highly of the benefits to their business and to staff morale. I encourage you all once again to use the awards process to build your business through continuous improvement. If you have not participated in the past, please enter this year and showcase the business you are proud of.

Our awards night will be held on Saturday 27 April 2013 when we will announce the winners and celebrate the highlight of the Chamber's year. I will look forward to seeing you all there.

Yours sincerely
Mike Kelly, President MCCI
