This week at Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre

The following work planned this week: 

  • Vinyl flooring to Level 1 and Ground Floor;
  • Fit off to services, electrical and hydraulic;
  • Painting and touch ups to all floors;
  • Splash backs to kitchenettes;
  • Landscaping works to car park gardens;
  • Shaping and preparation for concrete to upper forecourt; and
  • Pouring concrete to lower forecourt areas.

The western Council car park is likely to be open for through traffic by Thursday 10 December and available as a public car park by Wednesday 16 December.

Works for this week include:

Ground Floor

  • Toilet Fixtures installation continuing;
  • Suspended ceiling works continuing;
  • Services fitout continuing;
  • Shop fronts continuing;
  • Electrical mains works continuing;

1st Floor

  • Ceramic tiling continuing;
  • Carpentry fitout continuing;
  • Painting continuing;
  • Wall linings to new building continuing;

 External

  • Painting to external facades continuing; and
  • Roofing works continuing.

23rd November 2015

This week at the Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre

  • Survey for kerb and guttering;
  • Installation of kerb and guttering;
  • Soffit installation to ground floor awning;
  • Vinyl/carpet tile laying to Level 2, Level 1;
  • Fit off for electrical/hydraulic services to all floors;
  • Shaping for concrete to upper forecourt;
  • Preparation extra car park spaces outside library;
  • Backfill and shape eastern access ramp; and
  • Painting works to all floors.

Work to reconstruct the footpath in Bridge St known as CBD Stage 4 commenced 19 October 2015. The site of work until now has encompassed the footpath area extending along Bridge St from the Lucky Inn Chinese Restaurant to Munchies Café. The work in front of Campbell’s Corner will continue following the installation of awning columns.

9th November 2015

This week at Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Facility

The following work planned this week:

  • Civil works to car park area;
  • Curtin wall window frame installation, with glazing to follow within 2 weeks;
  • Electrical fit out and lighting;
  • Fire services fit out;
  • Hydraulic fit out, toilet pans, and basins;
  • Preparation for vinyl laying works;
  • Waterproofing to southern retaining wall;
  • Backfilling to southern retaining wall and eastern ramp;
  • Soffit cladding to ground floor awning;
  • Pour northern access ramp Tuesday morning; and
  • Waiting for upper forecourt area to dry out to commence shaping for concrete pavement works.

A reminder that there will periodic closure of access to the Library car park from Hill St between Monday 2 November 2015 and Friday 27 November 2015.

Full Closure – Monday 2 November to 14 November

One-Way Access to Hill St – Sunday 15 November to Tuesday 24 November

Full Closure – Wednesday 25 November to Saturday 28 November

1st Floor

  • Painting to windows, walls and ceiling continuing;
  • Carpentry fitout continuing;
  • Services rough ins continuing;
  • Wall linings to new building continuing;
  • Window double glazing to be completed; 

External

  • Awning carpentry works continuing;
  • Painting to external facades continuing;
  • Roofing works continuing;
  • Dome repairs continuing; and
  • In ground services works continuing in car park.

Work to reconstruct the footpath in Bridge St known as CBD Stage 4 commenced 19 October 2015.  The site of work at this time encompasses half of the footpath area, extending out from the front of the buildings, along Bridge St from the Lucky Inn Chinese Restaurant to Munchies Café. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

The following activities will be undertaken during week four (4), commencing 9 November 2015:

  • Pedestrians’ access has now moved onto the newly concreted section adjacent to the building alignment and work has transition to the other half of footpath (Stage 1b).

A weekly site meeting will be held at 8.45am each Friday, in Shop 2 Campbell’s Corner (previously occupied by Nora and Kate).  All interested parties are encouraged to come, where a briefing will be given on the scheduled work activities for the coming week and have an opportunity to ask questions or discuss any concerns.

Jackhammering of tiles near IGA entry over will take place over the next few days.

Due to wet weather access to the Library car park from Hill St between Monday 2 November 2015 and Friday 27 November 2015 will remain closed.

This week at Upper Hunter Education Centre

  • Internal painting on floors;
  • Installation of hand rails in Stair 1;
  • Removal of existing site accommodation sheds;
  • Trenching for site services from building to rail corridor fence – stormwater, electrical and sewer, and re-compact;
  • Demolish and removal of vegetation west side of carpark;
  • Removal of car park asphalt surface; and
  • Ground preparation for Loxton House forecourt.

A reminder that there will periodic closure of access to the Library car park from Hill St between Monday 2 November 2015 and Friday 27 November 2015.
