Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre

The following work is planned for this week:

  • Roof anchor points being installed;
  • Works to soffit of Level 1;
  • Sheeting Level 1 walls;
  • Tiling to commence in wet areas;
  • 2 x curtain wall frames to north and south elevations being installed;
  • External cladding to remaining walls;
  • Continue blockwork to northern access ramp and retaining wall;
  • Tentative delivery of lift car equipment;
  • Block cleaning to remaining external walls; and
  • Joint sealing to brick and block control joints.

While Angus McGee our Site Manager is on leave this week we have a temporary Site Manager Shannon Gatt who will be overseeing the site to ensure everything is running smoothly and safely and can be contacted 0413 881 080.

Ground Floor

• MSB Delivery on Tuesday;
• Services rough-ins continuing;
• Fire rating of ceilings;
• Rendering;
• Blockworks;

1st Floor

• Painting to windows, walls and ceiling;
• Timber window refurbishment;
• Services rough-ins;
• Perforated linings installation;

External

• Awning carpentry works continuing;
• Painting to External facades;
• Roofing works continuing; and

Night works

• Installation of electrical and plumbing in ground services to the carpark on Monday and Tuesday nights.

The electrical work for the new substation is expected to resume this week and on Tuesday 6 October the works for a new water main in Brook St will begin. Pedestrian access will be maintained during these works.

This week at Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre

The following work is planned for this week:

  • Continue roofing and related sheet metal works;
  • Continue cladding to eastern elevation;
  • Construction of block work to northern ramp;
  • Commence sheeting to Level 1;
  • Waterproofing to ground floor wet areas; and
  • Complete rough in to all services Level 2.

This week at Campbell's Corner

Ground Floor

• Concrete works to stairs and rear floor;
• Plumbing, mechanical and hydraulics rough-ins;
• Remaining roofing to be completed;
• Rendering to walls continuing;
• Fire rated ceilings continuing;

First Floor

• Plumbing, mechanical and hydraulics rough-ins to new area;
• Wall framing to new area;
• Painting to ceilings and walls;
• Refurbishment of timber windows continuing;
• External glazing continuing;

External

• Heritage awning works continuing; and
• Painting continuing.

More roof sheets will be delivered early at 6.00am tomorrow morning. A crane will be established onsite tonight and the work should take approximately an hour in the morning.

The electrical work has ceased in the footpath along Brook St for now with water main works to commence later in the week. Pedestrian access is to be maintained during these footpath works.

This week at Campbell's Corner

Works for this week include:

Ground Floor

•         Structural steel to Ground Floor roof;

•         Services rough-Ins to Ground Floor;

•         Fire rating to underside of floor joists;

•         Rendering to Ground Floor;

First Floor

•         Services rough-ins to Atherston Room;

•         Wall framing to new building;

•         Wall linings being set;

•         Timber window refurbishment;

External

•         Awning heritage works commencing on Bridge Street;

•         Awning works to above Munchies tenancy; and

•         Painting to the exterior.

The work for the new electrical kiosk continues this week with majority of the work being along Brook St footpath with trenching, placing of conduit and backfill works. Pedestrian movements will be managed and access to businesses will remain.

 

This week at the Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre

he following work is planned for this week:

• Continue cladding to external façade;
• Continue roofing to all floors;
• Commence excavation to main ramp footings;
• Complete brickwork to all elevations;
• Sheet wet areas for waterproofing; and
• Rough-in for electrical, mechanical and hydraulic.

The works are now at a very busy time on site with increases in labour and movements in and around the site increasing in frequency. Within construction constraints we are limiting contractor parking to the bare minimum with access requirements to work vehicle and machinery determining an allocation of car park or not. Contractor parking is limited to parking spaces south of businesses in Hill St. Contractors who do not require access to their vehicles have been asked to either car-pool or park away from site.

Ground Floor

• Hydraulic rough-ins for new grease arrestor;
• Electrical Mains rough-ins;
• Concrete works to front stair;
• Roofing installation;
• Fire and Electrical rough-Ins;
• Fire Rated Ceilings continuing;

First Floor

• Setting of wall linings;
• Roof installation;
• Services rough-ins to new first floor;
• Window refurbishment continuing;
• Wall & Ceiling linings continuing;

External

• Painting works continuing;
• Awning carpentry works; and
• Dome Repairs to commence.

Please note that on Wednesday 16 September the long line roof sheets will be craned onto the Ground and First Floor roof areas. The delivery truck will arrive by 6am with a crane set up to lift the materials into place. The work is expected to be completed with the truck and crane gone by no later than 9am.

The first entry off Brook Street to the car park will be blocked and traffic will be directed through the second entry. Traffic control will be in place for the carpark.

• Continue cladding to external walls;
• Roofing works to continue, as well as framing to top of lift shaft;
• Excavation and reinforcement installation to northern ramp;
• Continue electrical, mechanical rough in on first and second floor;
• Pour tank room, lift lobby and stair lobby slabs; and
• Installation of glazing to window frames.

This week at Upper Hunter Tertiary Education Centre

The following work is planned for this week:

  • External Cladding to Level 1;
  • Structural steel installation over Stair 1/Lift Shaft Lobby;
  • Complete brick work to western elevation to Level 1;
  • Commence excavation of northern ramp;
  • Continue roofing to Level 1 and Level 2; and
  • Rough in for services to Level 2.

This week at Campbell's Corner

Ground Floor

• Structural Steel erection - cranes and deliveries will impact on the car park but to a lesser than last week;
• Services rough ins;
• Fire Rating works;
• New temporary entry on Bridge Street will open from Wednesday.

Please note that on Tuesday and Wednesday access through the timber hoarding entry will be intermittent as steel is lifted into place.

1st Floor

• Roofing to new area to commence;
• Painting of external façade continuing;
• Setting of wall linings; and
• Timber Window refurbishment continuing.

The work for the new electrical kiosk has commenced this week. It is an 8 week program but the majority of work will take place in the first two weeks. Please also find attached a car park plan that has been distributed to contractors. Within construction constraints we are limiting contractor parking to the bare minimum with access requirements to work vehicle and machinery determining an allocation of car park or not. Many contract staff are either car-pooling or parking off Lower Brook St and walking to site.
