The Chamber recently held its AGM. In his president’s report, Mie Kelly, sincerely thanked his fellow volunteer Directors for their continuing support and noted that all have taken time out of their business and private lives day to attend to Chamber matters and to support Chamber Programs.
In his report he also went on to say, “Through the last financial year, we have also seen the increasing impacts of inflation and rising interest rates. The Chamber remains mindful of the impacts on our businesses and continues to provide services and support through Business Development Workshops, Mentoring Services, Buy Local Campaigns, Networking opportunities, Monthly Breakfasts, Monthly Newsletters, and our Business Awards”.
Treasurer Loraine Skinner noted in her report that “The Chamber is in a solid financial position. We have maintained a membership of over 200 businesses. We are also grateful for the support of many sponsors who allow us to run programs and events for member’s benefit. All our activities are fully funded, and we hold reserves to ensure our sustainability”.
The Chamber continues to support economic diversity and collaboration between all industry sectors. The Chamber remains focused on the immediate and longer term need of members. Our Mission – “To represent, promote and encourage business enterprise in Muswellbrook and it’s Districts”, commits us to our continued program of events and services. It also, drives our involvement is various private and public sector committees and focus groups. In the year ahead, we will continue to provide information on significant major developments planned for our local economy.
