The Rotary Club of Muswellbrook recently held a Drought Assistance Charity Golf Day to support local farming families in the Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter Shires.
The event, held at the Muswellbrook Golf Club on the 5th October 2018, attracted over 130 players and prizes were awarded for the first three places, longest drives, nearest the pins and best fancy dress. Even last place was awarded a prize, the infamous Bradman Award (100 before lunch).
All players received a “goodies bag” and lunch as part of the entry fee and comedian David Carr provided some light entertainment after the golf before Jeremy Barnes Big Night Out band played into the evening. The event was a huge success with over $46,000 being raised on the day however funds are still being received so they hope to hit the magic $50,000 mark.
The Rotary Club of Muswellbrook will be distributing the funds themselves to ensure all money donated will remain in the local Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter communities.
